I used to have an account with Electric Kitten Hosting, based in the US. They sold my account to another host, which annoyed me slightly, but that's just business.
This was a couple of years ago now, but on January 12th this year, they sent me an email saying they were about to charge me for my hosting! I emailed them back to inform them that, in fact, they no longer hosted my web site because they themselves had sold it to another company! I'll post the communication below for everyone to see.
When i got my credit card bill this month, i found that they had indeed taken my money. Of course, my credit card company are disputing the transaction, so I don't actually have to pay it (big advantage of only ever using a credit card online, rather than a debit card).
We'll see what Electric Kitten have to say when they get contacted by my credit card company.
